Exercise 9
To talk about finished actions we can use the present perfect . It often depends on the kind of time expression that is used. We do not use the present prefect with expressions which refer to a finished time (yesterday, last year, when, then). We normally use the present perfect with expressions which refer to any time up to now (ever, never, before, often, already, recently, yet).
We often use the present perfect continuous to talk about actions continuing up to now, especially when we say how long they have lasted. We do not use present tense to say how long something has lasted. We also use present perfect continuous to talk about long or repeated actions that have finished recently and which have present results.
So, present perfect continuous looks at the continuing situation itself and present perfect simple says that something is completed or achieved.

Write a right word in each gap. You can use one word more than once: already, before, ever, for, just, recently, since, so, still, until, yet
